Chapter 18~ A Christmas Wish
Bella woke up snuggled in the coverings of…the bed? She turned over to be greeted by the beautiful smile of the man she loves.
“How did we get into bed?” she asked perplexed; her voice crackled with sleep.
She stretched out, arching her back, effectively releasing her breasts from the sheet that had been covering them. Carlisle forgot everything around him as he stared down at her perfect mounds. Bella looked up when he didn’t answer and saw him licking his lips. He looked so young in that moment. She couldn’t help herself as she gave them a little jiggle.
“Good morning.” She said as she did so.
Carlisle came out of his boob induced haze with the classic ‘kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar’ expression on his face. Bella laughed as she pulled him towards her; kissing him soundly on the mouth. He rolled over on top of her pressing his titanium cock against her moist heat. Bella moaned as she lifted her legs to lock them around his waist. Carlisle took it as the invitation it was and slid home.
“Ohhhh, yes! It is a good morning.” She moaned out.
Carlisle couldn’t help but laugh; shaking his head. But then who was he to disagree? He pushed in deeper pulling more sounds from Bella as she rocked up to meet him. He saw the fire in her eyes and reciprocated with a devilish grin. If she is up for a little play time, then so am I.
He sat back lifting her hips up with him, arching her back. He swiveled his hips as he pumped deep inside her. This new angle was hitting a deliciously sweet spot causing Bella to pant as her toes went warm and tingly. Carlisle felt the head of his penis hit her g-spot with every thrust. He knew exactly what he was doing. He looked down at her as she writhed on the bed while her skin flushed in that beautiful pink tone that he loved. He arched back just a touch more, then brought his thumb and forefinger of his right hand down to her soft curls. He found what he was looking for as the tiny bundle of nerves peaked out from its hiding spot. He began to stroke it gently eliciting delicious noises from Bella.
“Mmmm, ohhhh. Carlisle, mmmmm. Oh God. Ahhh.”
Then he took them both to the edge as he pinched on the swollen nub sending her crashing into her climax at full speed. He started pumping into her wet sex harder and faster causing her to scream as she came around him.
“Ohhhhhhhh Yessssss Carlisle I’m…Ahhhhh!!!!!”
Her muscles spasmed; clamping down on his steel shaft milking his orgasm straight from the source. He shot his cold seed deep within her as he thrust in and held still. His dick pulsed repeatedly with his release. The urge to bite began to overwhelm him, so he clamped his mouth shut. He growled through his clenched teeth until the intensity lessened and he began to come down from his precipice. He opened his eyes to watch Bella’s body twitch with the aftershocks of her climax. He leaned forward to kiss her lips gently. Bella took him by surprise biting his lip in response. She opened her eyes and smiled at him as she still held his lip. Her bite quickly turned to a suckle and then to soft loving kisses.
Only Bella would bite a vampire he thought as she peppered his chin then neck with hot kisses. Just when he lost his resolve to get out of bed his phone began to vibrate. He sighed heavily and smoothly extricated himself from Bella as well as the tangle of sheets around them. He didn’t need to look at the display to know who it was.
“Good morning Alice.”
“Good morning yourself,” she responded with a giggle, “now I understand you wanting to stay in bed all day, but that is just not happening. We have held Emmett back as long as we can. We will be home in thirty-seven minutes so I suggest you guys get in the shower now.”
Carlisle huffed as he ran his hand through his hair and he looked at the goddess lying tangled amongst the Egyptian cotton sheets on their bed. Her hair was tussled and her cheeks held that glorious glow. The brown of her eyes twinkled with the muted sunlight that was pouring in from the window.
“…that is unless you want Emmett busting in at a very inopportune moment.” Alice’s voice demanded Carlisle’s attention.
“I understand Alice. We’ll see you soon.” He said resigned.
“Merry Christmas Carlisle.” Her voice held the sound of her smile.
He smiled despite himself, “Merry Christmas Alice.”
Carlisle slid the phone closed, tossing it on the bedside table as he leaned in over Bella. The lucky sheet seemed to have wound itself strategically around her body so that only her stomach, a leg, her shoulders and arms were free. Damned lucky sheet.
He kissed her softly, but Bella had other ideas as she deepened the kiss and raked her hand through his golden tresses, “Sweetheart, unless you want the others to join us in here to open gifts, we need to get up to get cleaned and dressed in the next thirty-four minutes.”
She groaned in protest but then smirked as she got up on her knees forcing Carlisle to stand up once more. The sheet fell from her body triggering Carlisle to stop breathing again. Never in his long memory could he recall forgetting to breathe so often. He leaned in to suck on her pert nipple when his phone buzzed…only once. He growled at the offending silver object then released his hold on Bella’s breasts.
She smiled demurely and whispered, “Later.”
She got up off the bed; walking to the washroom in the buff. Carlisle’s cock twitched and he growled once more as he swept her off her feet carrying her into the shower.

Bella and Carlisle walked out of their room to the sound of the other two couples in the living room. The faint sounds of Christmas carols played as the backdrop to the standoff in front of the tree. Bella smiled brightly as she took in the scene in front of her. There were piles of presents pouring out from under the giant evergreen while Emmett attempted to barter his way past Rosalie in order to check out the gifts with his name on them. Jasper was obviously escalating Emmett’s excitement as he wore the tale-tell smirk he always did when he was playing dirty. Alice was threatening to tell Emmett what was in all the boxes before he touched one if he didn’t, as she put it, ‘back away from the tree’. Rosalie just stood with her arms purposely crossed in front of her chest as her stiletto clad foot tapped out an impatient cadence.
Carlisle just shook his head. He had lost track of how many Christmas mornings began with this exact same scene; except this year was different. The warm, fragile hand linked in his made him well aware of that fact. He smiled at the expression of joy on Bella’s face as she giggled at their antics.
“Merry Christmas,” he called out as they broke the threshold into the living room.
Everyone stopped turning towards the happy couple.
“Merry Christmas!” rang out throughout the room. The spectacle of the past few minutes was forgotten as they all went to greet Carlisle and Bella.
Hugs and kisses were exchanged amongst the family members. Bella was stunned but happily surprised when even Jasper enveloped her in a strong but tender embrace. She hugged him back with as much strength as she could muster. He had never hugged her before and she wasn’t sure if he ever would again so she wanted to make it count. His curly blond hair tickled her nose which made her smile grow even wider. She clasped her hands together behind his back and tightened her squeeze so much so that her arms began to shake. Her eyes welled up threatening to crest over with the happy tears she couldn’t help but produce.
Jasper never intended to allow himself this close of contact with Bella for fear of losing control again (despite Alice’s unwavering assurances that it would never happen). But when she and Carlisle walked into the room, the imperial joy and love that was rolling off of her called to him more intensely than any blood he had ever been in contact with. He needed to be closer to her; closer to her beautiful emotions. So, before he could second guess himself, he had her wrapped in his arms. The feelings pouring out of her surged directly into him; becoming infinitely stronger as she reciprocated the hug. Mixed with happiness and love came relief. He could feel her struggle to hold him tighter and if it was possible for a vampire to cry, he could have at that very moment.
Jasper never doubted Bella’s acceptance and love for him, but it wasn’t until this moment in time that he truly understood the purity of her feelings. He held her a moment longer when the others’ emotions broke through the bubble he had encased himself in of Bella’s emotions. Confusion, shock, protection-lots of protection, slight unease and a giddy joy that he knew too well could only come from Alice. He looked up to see the other four vampires watching him.
He carefully stepped back holding Bella’s upper arms to distance himself from her. Her smile never faltered.
“Merry Christmas Jasper.”
He gave her his slow southern smile which tipped slightly higher on the right.
“Merry Christmas Bella.”
Any tension in the air quickly dissipated the instant the girls were hovering over Bella, asking about her date with Carlisle while they ‘oohed’ and ‘ahhed’ over her engagement ring. Talk turned to dresses, location and music until Emmett couldn’t stand it anymore.
“Oh come on! Yes, I am happy that Baby Bells is going to officially be a Cullen, but can’t we please open gifts before you go all wedding planning pixie crazy and we never get to open them?!?”
Everyone turned to see the giant vampire with an impatient expression that could put any five-year-old to shame as he stood in front of the tree. Bella walked over to him to wrap her tiny arms around his massive torso. He sighed and hugged her back. Music couldn’t hold a candle to Bella on calming the savage beast.
She looked up into his honey eyes smiling.
“Okay Emmett, we can shelf the wedding talk for today if you do one thing for me.” Bella said with a sly smile.
Emmett was a little hesitant to agree, but the call of unopened gifts was too great, so he quickly gave in as his head bobbed in an exaggerated nod.
“What it is Baby B?”
She smiled wider, “When Carlisle and I do get married, I want you to be the one to walk me down the aisle.”
Of all the things in the world his vampire brain thought up in the few seconds prior, this was not even on the radar as an option.
He was thankful he couldn’t cry at that moment since it saved him from the subsequent teasing he would have been given by Jasper. But his dead heart wanted to dance. He gave a megawatt smile to the diminutive woman in his arms.
“It would be my honor Little B.”
Emmett swooped Bella up into an immense bear hug causing her to squeak.
Rosalie chided him, “Emmett, don’t break the human. That one is irreplaceable.”
Emmett gently placed her back on the floor. Bella winked at Rosalie as she went to sit next to Carlisle on one of the sofas that created the semi-circle around the tree. Emmett was on cloud-nine, bouncing around the tree like he was on a sugar high. He rivaled Alice as the most energetic on Christmas every year, but this year even more so. He donned his Santa hat and began passing out gifts; giving Bella the honor of opening the first one.
The gift was from Alice. She thanked the pixie and began to open it carefully. It was a beautifully wrapped bundle of journals accompanied by several exquisite pens. Alice winked at her in her knowing way. Bella wasn’t sure what Alice was hinting at, but she smiled anyways.
Christmas with the Cullen’s was something to experience. They took their time to watch each other open their gifts. Even though Alice knew what everyone got her, she still feigned surprise; however her gratitude was truly genuine. Bella had decided that since buying things for vampires who had been around at least seventy years and had more money than Midas was silly. She went a different direction getting them things that they would never buy for themselves. Toys. She loved seeing their faces as they opened them. She got Emmett Rock’em-Sock’em Robots. He howled with laughter, then instantly challenged Jasper to a round. Jasper agreed to play with him if he was willing to play Battleship with him. Rosalie was practically rolling on the floor when she opened her Matchbox play set with several miniature muscle cars including an exact replica of her red BMW.
“Bella, I love it. Thanks!” Rosalie said as she studied the two inch model of her baby.
“Oh Bella, Bella, Bella.” Alice said clicking her tongue as she shook her head back and forth.
Everyone looked over as Alice pulled out her very own Barbie doll with several stylish outfits. The laughter echoed throughout the room as everyone joined in.
Bella shrugged, “I just figured that you are always trying to dress me up…this model doesn’t talk back like I do.”
Carlisle opened his gift from Bella next. He chuckled as he found an Operation game inside. Bella leaned into his shoulder and said, “Just in case you wanted to practice your doctoring skills.”
He got a sly smile on his red lips before he whispered into her ear, “I’d love to play doctor with you, baby.”
“Oh my God! My ears! It’s Jesus’ birthday for Christ’s sake! None of that talk in front of the baby Jesus!” Emmett cried out as he cupped his hands over his ears and squinted his eyes shut.
The laughter started again. Carlisle pulled Bella into his lap and kissed her neck as he admired the delicate chain that sat there. She fingered the heart shaped charm that hung from the necklace. Her finger drew across the delicate script on the front.
“Il mio cuore è per voi,” Carlisle whispered, “It is Italian for ‘My heart is for you’.
He kissed her neck sweetly.
“That’s it. Come on Jazz, let’s go break in our new stuff.” Emmett said as he grabbed his pile of gifts and headed towards his room.
The others followed suit. Alice found herself excited about playing with her new Barbie. She had no human memories of her childhood and she was shocked to find how much joy she was getting out of manipulating the ill proportioned doll.
Carlisle sat contentedly with Bella’s legs draped over his lap. The scarf she gave him hung casually around his collar. He absentmindedly stroked his fingers from her knee down to her toes before heading up again. He felt the love and peace of the day wrap around him like a warm blanket. His heart may be silent but, it told him that he had Bella to thank for it all. She had made such a profound impact on the family. She brought a balance that had not been there before. Bella looked at the soft smile that played on his perfect lips and smiled in return.
“Penny for your thoughts?” she asked as she raked her nails from his sideburns to the back of his neck.
A purr bubbled up from his chest causing Bella to giggle. He turned and took her hand in his kissing each fingertip before placing a soft peck over her ring.
“I am just enjoying the spirit of the day. I do not require the use of Jasper’s talent to feel the happiness that has filled these walls. And you my dear, are the main reason for that.” He said as he tapped her nose in a playful manner.
Bella blushed deep crimson, “Me?” she asked in disbelief.
“Yes you,” he smiled back, “you do not realize the positive way you impact this entire family.” He pushed some loose hair back over her shoulder and tipped up her chin before she tried to hide her face from him. “There was a time when you were not with us and even though we were the same family unit of seven that we had been before we met you, we were not whole. It was like someone had taken the song birds out of the sky. Everything still flowed as it always had, but your absence left us without the piece that made everything beautiful.”
Bella bit her lip as she tried to believe what Carlisle was saying. She couldn’t argue with the sincerity that she saw in his eyes. He kissed her reverently and she hummed against his lips.
“So, my Isabella, did you get everything you wanted for Christmas?” he queried as he fiddled gently with her ring.
Bella blushed again as she knew what she wanted to ask him, but didn’t know how to. However, after his declaration, maybe this would be easier than she expected. Carlisle’s curiosity was amplified by her increased heart rate in combination with her rosy cheeks. He waited patiently as Bella played with his fingers. He loved her touch, no matter how innocent. Finally after several minutes, Bella took a deep breath to reinforce her resolve. She sat up straight and looked Carlisle directly in the eyes. She looked fierce; like a force to be reckoned with.
With one last deep inhalation she stated slowly so that her objective would not get missed, “I want you to change me. I want to be a vampire, and I want it tonight.”
Carlisle sat shocked at her conviction, failing to respond immediately which made Bella think he was going to deny her. So she started in on her reasons for her request.
“I am going to be your wife and it is only logical that I become like you. Not to mention that I am my own worst enemy when it comes to my safety. We have been lucky thus far that I have not hurt myself when one of you has been thirsty. We are gambling with the family by keeping me human. And I was hoping that if you agreed, that we could get married next December on New Year’s Eve and I want to be a vampire before we marry.” She paused to make sure she kept her emotions in check. She squeezed his hand. “I have chosen this life and I want to start living it. So say you will change me. Please Carlisle. Please say you will change me.” She pleaded.
Carlisle looked into her eyes where he saw her raw determination. If his heart still beat, it would have skipped. She wants me to change her. She wants to be with me forever! He only had one reservation in regards to her request.
“My Bella, it makes me beyond happy that you are willing to give up your human life to be with me; with us. But if I could request one concession?” he asked hopefully.
Bella was grateful for his agreement to change her, but was leery of what he might ask in regards to a ‘concession’. She nodded for him to continue, refusing to verbally agree to anything until she knew what it was.
“I understand your eagerness to start your new life, as you put it, but I would like to wait a couple more months to change you.”
Bella opened her mouth to protest, but Carlisle gently placed his fingers over her mouth to stop her.
“Please hear me out before you object?” he requested and once more she nodded.
Bella took a deep breath to settle herself, but her mind was whirling with her counterarguments for not waiting. She had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep quiet.
“Believe it or not, I am just as eager for you to be a vampire. God forgive me, but it has been my hope since you awoke that you would choose this life; choose me.”
He brought her hand up to his lips as he pressed a gentle kiss to her ring finger. Bella gradually released her hold on the inside of her mouth grinning at the sweetness of the gesture. It was so old school; so very him.
Carlisle continued to hold her hand as he went on, “But with the transformation comes some unpleasant effects. The most dominant one is the pain that you will have to suffer through for three days.” Bella opened her mouth again, but Carlisle did not give her a chance to interrupt, “I know that you are prepared for the pain, but I am not. Knowing that it will be me who is inflicting this upon you is a terrible burden that I feel the need to prepare myself for.”
Bella closed her mouth; nodding in understanding. She didn’t think she could ever do something to Carlisle that would knowingly cause him pain. It made her even more appreciative that he was willing to do this for her.
“Another aspect to consider is the possibility of you losing your human memories. Most times, when an individual awakens to his or her vampire life, their human memories become murky; possibly fading away over time. For others, like Alice, their memories are wiped clean by the effects of the venom. I want to give you time to document your most precious memories so that you at least have that to look back on. Forever is a long time to carry remorse. I would hate for you to regret not taking this time to prepare yourself to say goodbye to your human life.”
Bella sighed. The arguments for not waiting that had been burning in her head now flitted away like smoke in the wind. Carlisle was always logical. He never missed the tiniest details. He saw all angles of a situation and considered every option with the utmost consideration. Bella worried her lip. He reached up to release it from her teeth.
“What is it sweetheart?”
She sighed as she fidgeted with her engagement ring, “What about the wedding? I know my attention will be mostly on blood after you change me. But will I…will I be ‘okay’ by December if we wait a few more months?”
He tipped her chin up as she seemed to be speaking directly to her lap. He reached out and pushed the loose hair that had fallen forward, behind her ear then cupped her cheek with his hand. She leaned into his caress. It always amazed her at how gentle his touch was.
“It can take a new vampire a year or even two to be acclimated to be in the company of humans without giving into out more baser instincts. But being that there will not be any humans in attendance at the wedding, I feel confident that you will be very comfortable in your new skin.” He said with a wink.
Bella smiled brightly, “You really think so?”
“Absolutely my love. Spring then?” he asked as he leaned his forehead into hers.
“Spring.” She agreed and sealed it with a kiss.
